Shelf Life studies

I.T.P. SRL is able to support companies in defining the shelf life of a product during its design phase, as well as following reformulations or packaging changes.

Shelf life refers to the commercial life of a packaged product, from the moment it leaves the production line until the last day considered suitable for optimal consumption.

During this time, the product must remain safe, preserve the desired sensory, chemical, and physical characteristics, and meet the nutritional declarations on the label, if stored under recommended conditions.

Studi di Shelf Life - ITP

We conduct studies of standard Shelf-life (SSL) and accelerated Shelf-life (ASL) by evaluating:

studi di shelf life - ITP

These parameters are monitored over time at storage temperatures most representative of the product type.

Accelerated shelf life (ASL) studies take place under storage conditions less favorable than standard ones, in order to increase the degradation kinetics of the products.

These studies also allow the development of a mathematical model to predict the degradation of qualitative parameters over time, thereby supporting the actions of R&D and Quality departments in the design and launch of new products.
